So after lots of testing on my part, I can say these all get my seal of approval! Read on for the five moisturizers that will give you a serious dose of moisture…
I just transitioned to the Countermatch line from Beautycounter, since I was looking for a boost of moisture for the colder months, and because I have been a huge fan of their Countermatch Lotion for a while now. The consistency of this is thicker than the lotion, and the addition of salicylic acid helps to keep my skin super smooth. I am a true convert to this line now. Stay tuned for more on the rest of the collection coming soon! (Also, follow me on Instagram, where I frequently share my thoughts on all sorts of products on Instagram Stories, and occasionally catch people in the background in various states of shock and anger at being put on social media. Yay!)
I got this in my Byrdie beauty box a while back, and I’m just getting around to using it. You all know I am a huuuuuge fan of Tatcha’s Cleansing Oil, so it was natural that I branched out to experiment with some of their other products. This will instantly quench your skin, but know that it does leave behind a very slick feel for a short time. So make sure to allow it to soak i before applying makeup or going facedown on your pillowcase. (So… all exhausted moms, take note.)
This is a great cream that smells divine (hints of lavender!) and moisturizes like a dream! It has extracts of something called “Resurrection Flower,” which, if it’s as fancy as it sounds, maybe can help me restore some of my sanity stolen from me by parenthood. Does it work that way? No? Hmm. Okay. Moving on.
I am a preacher of the power of probiotics, and the technology in this product harnesses the benefits of good bacteria. A completely silky texture and a divine smell, I love using this as my last step at night. It does a great job of locking in moisture and gives you a nice glow when you wake up.
This cream comes from the maker of my favorite CC cream, and I have really enjoyed my foray into their skincare line solely because of this moisturizer. It’s got a buttery feel, a light scent and falls under the category of what I would call “heavy duty moisturizer.” Use this if you want a serious dose of moisture. (But pregnant and nursing mamas, be aware there is a Vitamin A ingredient in here called retinyl retinoate, which may not be advised for you. As always, check with your doctor!)
