For this round of the gift guide, I thought I’d round up some beauty products that are always on my top shelf.
Every single one of these has been tested–and loved!–by me. From skincare to haircare to body care, it’s all here.
The Violet Grey Icons Only box has some favorites of mine that any beauty junkie would love getting, including the Augustinus Bader cream–a formula that moisturizes and even gets rid of light discoloration on the skin like no other. The Hanacure mask is a cult favorite, and this also has a cream shadow stick–the best formuation, I think, for aging eyelids.
On every trip lately, I travel with my Colleen Rothschild Discovery Collection. This kit has everything from a cleansing balm, to a travel-sized polish and mask, to my favorite from their line, the Extreme Recovery Cream. For a skincare addict like me to rely only on one kit and brand is saying something; these products are that good!
My jar of Furtuna Skin Replenishing balm lives in my nightstand, for good reason. This olive-oil infused skin care balm is the perfect final layer to lock in your moisturizer at night, without clogging pores. I wake up with a glow when I use this! You can start with a travel size to see if it’s right for you.
The Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk mini liner and lipstick set is the best way to always have a nude lip on hand. Stash it in your makeup bag for touch-ups on the go. This is a true pink nude–it’s a little light for my lips (which have a purple-y natural hue), but
I use the Verb Ghost Oil every time I dry my hair, which leaves it so soft and touchable. This kit will give you one for home, one for travel.
The Revlon Dryer Brush has either lovers or haters; I’m in the former category, but (BIG but!), make sure to rough dry your hair about 85% dry before letting this touch your hair. Otherwise you can end up with some serious damage. That being said, this is the exclusive hot tool I’ve been using for over a year, and I get the best blowout curls with this. Use with the hair oil above for amazing waves and protection!
Another product that’s been on my top shelf since first trying it is the Clearstem Skincare BOUNCEBACK Serum. It’s so good, I have it on subscription. This serum with peptides and oils makes my skin look better in every way–plumper, more even and more moisturized.
As I said above, I’m addicted to cream shadow sticks. Especially for older eyelids and skin, you can’t beat this formulation. A couple bonuses–they blend so easily, and they’re so much easier to travel with. With this Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Set I use the light shade all over my eyelid, the pinkish tone in my crease, and the light brown as a liner. Buy this–it’s a great value!
There is no brush I use more for myself and my kids than our Wet Brush. It’s the only brush I travel with, typically (aside from a small travel brush in my purse). It truly is the best at getting knots out, and I also use it for my rough dry before using my Revlon dryer brush. This set is a major deal! Keep one, use one for the kids.
I’ve been wearing my Teleties Silk Scrunchies during my tennis lesson to give me the ultimate high ponytail that actually holds. Teleties have a reputation for having serious hold, and this delivers, with the added bonus that it slides out even more easily due to the silk wrap. A true luxury hair tie, but worth every penny! I’d love to get this as a stocking stuffer!
I was bummed when I ran out of my Osea Undaria body oil, it’s so good. This oil is pure luxury and hydrates your skin like craaaaazy. This would be such a good luxurious gift for someone who might not think to get it themself!
My signature scent, and the gateway perfume that got me hooked on the Tom Ford fragrance family! This one is technically unisex but I think it is the sexiest scent–woody and spicy, with notes of leather, sage and tonka bean. And these last forever! My regular-sized bottle lasted almost a year, even with regular spritzing.
The YSL Nu Skin foundation is barely that–I’d say it’s more of a heavier-coverage tinted moisturizer. But whatever you want to call it, it’s good. The perfect amount of coverage that never looks cakey or heavy. Having natural-looking makeup is more of a priority as I’m aging, and this formula strikes the perfect balance.
The Rhode Peptide Lip set would be such a good stocking stuffer! I always have one of these tubes in my purse. This formula gives you a plumped-up look, and when you take it off they’re super hydrated.
