Baby #3’s Nursery Reveal!

Decorating isn’t one of my “things.” One might aptly file my previous forays into interior furnishings under “Sheer Necessity” and “You’ve Got to Put Some Damn Things in This Room or Your Kid Won’t Have Anywhere to Sleep.”
But I’ve lately found that, when given a little time and a little inspiration, I do actually enjoy feathering the nest a bit.
I told you guys all about how we waited until the last moment to decorate the nursery for Baby #3 (you can also see the Before picture there), and how the plan all along was to convert our playroom–the only available space–into the baby’s room. It involved a lot of purging and rearranging, but we got there. And only this past week I put the finishing touches on the room in the form of some awesome picks I tracked down at Home Goods and Target.
I’m proud to say that every piece of furniture and decoration in this room is either recycled from one of the older kids’ rooms, or bought on major sale or at a discount store.
It’s not making Architectural Digest anytime soon, but I think it’s rather cute. 🙂

The lesson? Don’t be scared to ask if floor models are on sale (saved tons of money doing this at various stores), hit up and dig through those discount stores and hand-me-downs are a good thing!
And this is going to sound majorly Captain Obvious, but be sure to sign up for the newsletters on the sites whose products you like. Often, you get a 10% discount code for signing up (Land of Nod does this, I believe), and you will also be alerted to all of their sales, so you know when to strike. That’s how we took advantage of the huge savings at PB Kids.
Now all we have to do is wait for the baby. Aaaaaah!
