As soon as I found out I was having a little girl people prepared me for how different they are from boys.

How different could they really be? I thought. I mean, they’re all babies.

Turns out, a lot.

She’s determined (fights her brother for toys!), independent (falls asleep on her own, (no extraneous cuddles, please!), and sassy already. I’ve joked about this but it’s absolutely true: The girl can already throw shade.

But she’s also so sweet and already chatty and–my favorite thing of all–loves to wake mama up when we are cuddling in bed by kissing me.

So when I got our holiday pictures back from the photographer and this was one of the outtakes, I had to share it. I thought it captured our fun love so perfectly.
