First, we got back from our trip to Ft. Wilderness to find a pile of dead bugs in the corner of my master closet, right under the window. After projectile vomiting everywhere (jokes, but I did get fully vom-ish), I calmed down enough to text message our pest control service, who promptly told me, Sis, you got termites.
Please imagine the dual shock and anger one feels when their 11-month old house has a termite infestation. (*pauses for dramatic effect*) Yeah, not good. I was not happy. But again, biggest problem in the world? Suppose not.
I won’t get into the gory details, but four out of five of us were taken down–me and all the kids–and there are enough snotty Kleenexes in our home currently to papier mache the Sistine Chapel. …You know… Should that be a thing.
This also involved an evening trip to urgent care for me, because Moms wouldn’t be Moms unless they put self-care allll the way last on the list and therefore end up with a nasty case of bronchitis from neglecting their own health. If you follow along on my Instagram and saw my Stories, maybe you even got to see the fun game of “Is it Bronchitis or the Flu?!” that we played live right there from the treatment room! #goodtimes!

I’m relatively certain (I say relatively, because one never knows for sure when kids and boogers are involved) that we’ve gotten through the worst of it, and for that I say, Praise the Lord! And also, Bring your own disinfectant with you next time you go camping in a cabin that ten thousand people have used before you!
All of this chaos can make one grateful for the sure things in life. Like a great basic t-shirt. 😉
I’m just starting to experiment a bit with crops that are coming back into style–hello again, 90s–and I love this version by Free People’s in-house line, We the Free.
I throw this on with both sweats and high-waisted jeans, and love it equally with both! This similar style is a little longer but has the same overall look.
This version is sold out, but there are tons more options that are nearly identical!
This one is the closest, and these are all great options, too!
Have you tried the crop trend?
