Between cramming as much travel as we could into the two and a half months when the kids were off, to getting things booked for next season of We Gotta Talk, things have been bu-sy. Yes, the two syllable version of that word so here’s my summer roundup! 😉
We got in some fun family time in Pittsburgh (going home is always so fun); we did a family trip to New York City (let me know if you want tips—Andrew planned a fantastic and crazily kid-friendly trip!); and ended the summer with a few chill days right outside Asheville. I’m sure so many of you can relate to the feeling that it all goes by so quickly, even though summer days can feel endless when you’re in the middle of it all.
I cried a little—okay, a lot—this week when we sent our little S off to pre-K.
She’s in a five-day-a-week program so she can be in the same school as her big brother and sister, and for some reason that feels very “official school” to me. Haha. With my son and older daughter, their pre-K was four days a week and only a half day, but with the third, they seem to get bigger and need more stimulation much quicker.
I laughed so hard last night when I asked her how she’s liking school after her first two days, and she had feedback only about two things: One, apparently there’s “too much coloring.” I laughed so hard at this because, what’s pre-K if not an extended coloring and craft session? Haha.
And her second feedback was that she gets super sweaty on the playground, so she requested some “sweat powder” (her words) so she can enjoy herself a little more. Hahaha. I wish I could have these hysterical things they say recorded somehow, because kids come up with the funniest things.
On another personal-ish note, COVID is spreading rapidly down here in Florida. Nearly everyone we know has been touched in some way by the Delta variant, whether it be from getting infected, or having their child quarantined and sent home from school due to potential exposure. It’s insane. Not to sound pessimistic, but I keep telling Andrew it feels like just a matter of time before we deal with it in some way, and I can only hope that with the vaccinations we’ll be able to fare decently. But man, the stress of it all. Stay safe, friends.
Now let’s get to…
Guys… okay wow, am I ever excited about Season 2 of We Gotta Talk!
I’m always working somehow, either reading and browsing articles to find a juicy topic to dig into, or reaching out to potential guests, so I’m laughing to myself thinking that at the beginning of summer I told myself I’d be taking a break. Ha! In reality I’ve spent almost the entire summer booking, recording one-off episodes, and re-releasing bonus episodes of some amazing shows from last season.
So here’s what you can look forward to as far as topics for the new season, which starts the first of September (eek!):
Sleep: Why It’s So Important, Why You Can’t Get It, and Best Ways to Finally Get it
More Than a Body
I’m interviewing the amazing authors of the book by the same title and the faces behind the popular Instagram account @beauty_redefined, Lexie and Lindsay Kite, to talk all about starting a new narrative when it comes to appreciating and loving our bodies.

Sex Positive
Oooh, this one! I can’t wait. I’m interviewing one of the highest-paid legal sex workers in the U.S. and talking all about not only her journey and why she got into what she does, but also how we can all be more positive and embracing of our sexuality. Juicy. Call the hotline right now and leave your questions for this one. 😉 407-984-5373.
Infertility
This is going to be another great show, with the host of the hit podcast Infertile AF, Alison Prato, and fertility coach Elizabeth King, both of whom will walk us through their own personal journeys with infertility, as well as discuss how they ended up being blessed with their children.
We kick things off September 1 with both our live show—on Facebook and YouTube—as well as the podcast. The show is live every Wednesday at noon ESET, and on Thursdays you get the podcast. Mark it down and be there with your questions! I want more than anything to connect with you this season!
Meantime, in my so-called “summer break” I also did…
A series on COVID from the front lines—interviews with medical professionals on how the Delta variant looks from their perspectives, (listen HERE and HERE)..
Delved into the afterlife with psychic Colby Rebel…
And asked, WTF is an NFT? with tech guru Karsen Woods.
Seriously, the WGT feed is always poppin’. Check it out!
All right, it’s off to car line for me! Drop me a line on IG to say hi, and talk soon!
