There’s one weird rule I have about getting into bed: I have to feel clean before I get into my sheets.
Usually this means a nice nighttime shower to wash off the (invariably crazy) day that just passed; but when I have the time and quiet to do so, a good bath is always so healing for my body and mind.
There’s nothing like a good bathtime ritual to restore you and prep you for a night of restful sleep, so today I’m highlighting three products that will have you so relaxed, you’ll melt right into bed!
Can we talk bath soaks for a minute? The combination of the healing aromatherapy and the reported health benefits of salts is just perfection to me.
I recently got to try this version of an elevated bath salt from Espa, and I’m in love. These are more fragrant than the typical bath salts I use, and I find they’re a nice change of pace when I want to truly luxuriate and have a sensory experience.
I use about a tablespoon in a hot bath and soak, soak, soak. The fragrance has notes of relaxing ylang ylang, vetiver, sandalwood and amber; and the salts themselves are a combination of Himalayan pink salt, and epsom salt.
This isn’t an every-bath treat for me, but something I reserve for those days when I need that extra boost of chill at night.
This Liquid Yoga soak by Mio is another take on an aromatic bath experience that you can use instead of the traditional salts.
It has mineral extracts in it as well as cannabis seed oil and fragrant oils, which combine for a truly relaxing sensory experience in the bath. I run about 2-3 tablespoons under the faucet as the water is filling the tub and mix it up a little before hopping in.
If you’re already soaking and chilling, what better time to throw on a mud mask to clear out your pores while you’re at it?!
The Clarifying Clay Mineral Mask by Espa has kaolin clay and geranium to help draw impurities from the pores; and as with any mud mask, you’ll get an immediate glow after removing it. Just make sure to follow up with a good gentle toner to remove any last traces of the mask, and then use a hydrating serum and/or moisturizer to lock in moisture!
