Despite the fact that I’m hauling around an extra 25 pounds these days and usually take the first opportunity to melt into the nearest couch or chair, when it came to spending some time away with my husband before Baby #3 arrives, we decided to head north and do some walking!
Are any of you in New York right now? Are you laughing too that we happened to pick the COLDEST weekend in, like, months, to visit? Ha!! It was hitting highs of 30 and lows of 15 when we were there this past weekend, but it didn’t matter. We walked literally miles around the city. In fact, we only took a car once in the two days we spent there. The excitement powered us through. J
On Friday, we went to the 9/11 Memorial. It was, in a word, profound. It is so moving, I can’t find the right words to describe it without just urging you to check it out whe you can. The exhibits bring to life the individual stories of all of the people involved in that awful day so vividly. It is impossible not to cry. If you are headed to NYC soon, I highly, highly suggest you stop by to experience it.
We ate at Locanda Verde in TriBeCa that night, then the next day shopped and got brunch at Upland with some friends, walked some more, then crashed in our hotel room that night at 5:30 (HA!) and watched a movie and chilled. The next day we caught Sunday mass at St. Peter’s in TriBeCa before heading to the airport to get back home.
In the past we have chosen beach getaways for our babymoons, but I couldn’t be happier that this time we chose something so fun. Enjoy the pics!
Anyone else planning a baby moon? Where did you go?
Hope you enjoyed the pics and talk soon!
