I have to tell you something: Please don’t believe my pictures. Or rather—believe them, in the sense that they physically exist right there on your computer screen—but please don’t think they tell the whole story.

I know I’m not the only parent who looks at her kid and thinks, “Holy crap, where did the time go?” Never in a million years would I think that all those people who talked about how fast it goes would be right.

I’m as much a fan of a pretty occasion dress as anyone–if said occasion is a night dancing and teetering on sky-high heels through the streets of Miami with my husband for the weekend. But let’s not kid anyone: Those occasions are few and far between lately.

Ask my circle of friends, and they will agree: I’m not the one in the group known to be particularly on-time, particularly good with remembering important dates, or particularly anything-that-has-to-do-with-having-a-functioning-brain.
