Happy Sunday, fellow talkers!
So when I launched WGT, I promised real talk on big topics—some of which make people uncomfortable, nervous or even like they’re out of their depth.
I’m really looking forward to interviewing parents and experts about how this topic breaks down—from kids questioning their gender identities; to how parents are (understandably) sometimes confused and emotional; to identifying ways to make our kids feel loved and included—and parents supported—around this big topic.
Tomorrow I’m dropping an early podcast episode all about kids and gender.
It features a conversation between two moms, each with their own experiences of children whose gender did, or does, identify differently than their sex.
You’ll also see an enlightening 5 Questions post tomorrow with child coach and author Vanessa Baker, who’s also one of the guests on the podcast.
Every day she talks with and coaches teenagers experiencing a range of changes, including but not limited to gender dysphoria. I ask her the basic questions—like what’s the difference between gender and sex—and we also touch on the more complicated issue of how to get society, and often times these children’s parents, to understand the complex feelings their own children are currently having.
Then on Wednesday it’s a live interview (and fashion show!) with Elizabeth Brunner, the founder of gender-neutral kids’ clothing line, Stereotype Kids.
She’s not only digging into why and how she started her line, but she’s also going to be showing us some adorable kids’ clothes right from her showroom floor! That’s Wednesday at 10am EST on Facebook and YouTube.
Can’t wait to dig into this big topic with all of you. As always, reach out to me on Instagram if you have any questions you want me to include for our panel of guests! I’m all ears, always.
