I live in basics.
While I aspire to be the type of woman who “dresses for the day,” I’m typically in casual clothing for the endless cleaning up and errand running that I do during the day. (Code phrase for athleisure.)
That being said, I am finding myself needing to be a little more put together for various events lately, and I’m always reaching for pieces that are classic and simple but also elevated. So I thought I’d put some pieces together that can hit the right notes for any daily event—good fabric, flattering cuts, nothing fussy.
Let’s get to it!
From L to R:
Jersey tee in navy
Washable silk skirt, under $70
Leather mary jane flat
Love this button-down sleeveless shirt
A baggy pleated trouser—this pair is so chic (and under $90)
Quilted crossbody tote, $72
One-shoulder ruched tee, $45
From L to R:
I have multiple pairs of these Agolde denim shorts—the length is a little more grown-up and easy to dress up than a frayed hem.
You absolutely need a classic button-down; this one is $88 and comes in multiple colorways.
I wear this Polo baseball cap nonstop.
Here’s the quickest way to plus up a casual outfit: classic gold hoops. This pair of twisted hoops is only $48.
I cannot do a post on elevated basics without a gorge blazer; I love this oversized one in this bone color.
I won’t stop talking about this cashmere ribbed tank top that is somehow only $36 and also gorgeous. I’m partial to the ice blue color.
