Back to school is officially in session! Even though it’s still blazing hot here in Florida, the start of school always has me mentally ready to shift my wardrobe. Lately, I’ve been doing a little bit of a fall shoe edit–adding in a kitten heel here, resurrecting a tall boot there.
I focused on a couple categories. First, the drop-off shoe. This is a casual shoe that I’d wear to school drop-off/pick-up and running all the errands in between. After a couple years of really leaning into the chunky sneaker aesthetic, I’m liking a simpler silhouette lately. I’m been reaching for an old-school pair of Keds. (Elder millennials, you know what’s up!)
I’m also really digging a kitten heel these days. To be honest, I only put on “high” high heels several times a year. Often, I find that a lower heel is not only (obviously) more comfortable but is also chic in an understated way. I’ve included a couple pairs here that you could wear with either a dressier pant or denim.
And finally, the return of the tall boot! I love a good slouchy high boot. In addition to bringing out some older styles that I’ve held onto, I’m also eyeing up a new pair in brown for this fall.
