I’m a huge believer in the power of natural relief when it comes to anxiety, as well as life’s little aches and pains.
While CBD might not be everyone’s choice when it comes to relieving the daily stressors and worries that come with parenting (especially parenting in a pandemic HELLO NO THANKS), this is one supplement that’s worked wonders for me. It eliminates the situational anxiety I feel when the day starts to feel long. (THIS IS EVERY DAY, btw.)FOCL was kind enough to send me their products to try, and I wanted to give you a quick review on how they worked for me!
Let’s take this one to the expert. Dr. Joseph Rosado, MD, is the medical director of Med Diagnostic and DBA Coastal Cannabis Clinic says:“The information we have about medical marijuana suggests that it could act as a replacement for typical anti-anxiety medication. Preliminary research about medical marijuana and anxiety shows cannabis has similar components to manufactured pharmaceuticals for anxiety symptoms.” [Editor’s note: Always consult with your doctor before starting a supplement or considering anti-anxiety options.]From GoodRX: “Some research has shown that it may work by affecting serotonin levels in the brain. Serotonin is a chemical in your body that plays a role in your mood, sleep, digestion, and behavior. Research suggests that serotonin levels can help treat anxiety and depression.”
First things first: FOCL’s products are non-GMO, vegan, abide by GMP practices, and TRU-ID tested. You can read more about all these certifications here. But yes, it does matter how pure your CBD products are, so always make sure to check!
Even though the first thing you might think of with a CBD supplement is relaxation, this blend of botanicals and CBD is aimed at helping you focus and keep your energy going throughout the day.
In addition to CBD, this supplement contains:Lion’s Mane: A medicinal mushroom said to help with cognitive performanceRhodiola: An adaptogen said to help pump down stress, and improve clarityL-Theanine (Green Tea): An amino acid that some say can help speed up your brain processingRead about the rest of the ingredients HERE.
I can’t say I noticed a bump in my energy, per se, but I can tell you this: When I took this supplement, I did not get the typical afternoon slump that can sometimes hit around 2-3pm.
FOCL says this nighttime supplement will help quiet the mind, preparing you for a restful night’s sleep. Suggested dosage is 2 capsules nightly.
In addition to CBD, FOCL night also contains:Valerian Root: This herb is said to promote sound rest and help you relax.Ashwaganda: An adaptogen that many claim (myself included) reduces stress and boosts brain function.5-HTP: This was a new ingredient to me. FOCL’s site says this amino acid will help produce serotonin, and help increase natural melatonin, which is the hormone that, when released, encourages sleep.Read about the rest of FOCL Night’s ingredients HERE.
This is my MVP product right here. If there’s anything to try first from the line, I would suggest this.I take one of these capsules at night, and without fail, I am able to relax and fall asleep within the hour. It doesn’t make me feel groggy; my body truly feels prepared to rest, and I also wake up energized.
Note: I also take magnesium at night, which helps me to wake up feeling rested, and I encourage anyone who struggles with feeling rested in the morning to talk to their doctor about adding this supplement into your routine.

Remember when you’d go to the athletic trainer in high school and they would do one of two things: Throw your injured part in a bucket of ice, or then slap some analgesic ointment on your muscles? The intense (but refreshing!) smell and feel of this cream gave me all sorts of nostalgic memories of that… and it works. More on my review in a minute, but first…
Camphor Bark Oil: This soothes the muscles and relieves pain.Menthol: Provides a cooling sensation upon contact.CBD: When applied topically, CBD can help to calm the body and create a soothing effect.
This lotion is SO strong, but I love. every. thing. about it. Like I said, it gives me major nostalgic vibes when I use this after a workout, and maybe that’s part of it, but mainly my whole body seems to relax when I apply this after a shower on a workout day.I prefer to use this at night, because I find the scent to be super relaxing before bed, and I also feel it helps to clear my sinuses. One drawback? It’s pricey. At $69 (or just over $62 with a subscription), it’s as much as a luxury face cream. So you have to decide if it’s something you want to invest in. The upside is, at its size, it should last at least two months with once-daily use.
I’ve been a fan of CBD for a while when it comes to managing situational anxiety. Check out this other content that breaks down more on this magic ingredient!
