Hello and happy start of the week!
After a rather eventful past week on both the homefront and at work, I’m just now collecting my thoughts and getting into the groove, facing down the remainder of October with as much optimism as possible.
By this point in the pandemic, most of us have had enough brushes with normalcy again—dinners out, grocery shopping, seeing friends in small groups—to feel a little lighter, maybe even a little less anxious.
But as we are far from completely “normal” again, it still feels like a bit of a false start. Kind of like when you get to the final leg of a race, completely exhausted, and think, Damn, I still have an entire lap left!
So let me ask: What are you most looking forward to that helps you with that final-lap feeling?
For me, it’s our tenth anniversary trip we have planned to Italy next spring. The plan is to do just under a week with a few nights on the Amalfi Coast, and a couple days in Rome. Aah! I’m even learning Italian so that I can ask for my morning coffee like a native. 😉
Will it happen? Who knows! But for now I’m comforting myself with thoughts of warm air, gorgeous Mediterranean sea views, fresh lemons and the feeling that, just for a while, we have escaped the madness of this past year.
Sometimes planning for the future is the perfect antidote to a less-than-perfect present.
So that’s the plan over here! How are you all feeling? What’s getting you through? I’d love to hear about your plans and daydreams! Drop into Comments and let me know!
