After writing about what skinimalism is last week, this week I want to share with you my current “skinimal” routine—the exact products on my top shelf that I’m working my way through.
Everyone’s idea of a minimal routine will look different. For me, I choose one powerful “treatment” product—a retinol, growth factor serum, or acid—and the rest of the routine has products with simple, non-irritating ingredients.
Like I said in my previous post, my goal in going skinimal this year is get through my stash one powerful product at time. And allowing it to shine with other simpler products is how to do it!
Fresh Soy Cleanser. It’s super gentle but removes any heavy product from the night before.
Tatcha The Essence. It’s basically a vitamin-packed powerhouse with a proprietary rice- and green tea-derived ingredient that plumps, brightens and protects with antioxidants. The glow I get from this is insane.
I’m testing out and loving the Neutrogena Rapid Repair Vitamin C capsules and really loving them so far! (Stay tuned for a post on this product coming up soon!)
Either Glytone mineral SPF or Supergoop! Glow Screen. Re: the latter, I’ve finally found a chemical sunscreen that doesn’t make my skin angry. The light glow it leaves behind is a bonus!
Tatcha Camellia Oil Cleanser. Removes all makeup and skincare in one simple step!
Tower28 SOS Spray on a cotton pad mixed with a few drops of Biologique Recherche Lotion P50W, to keep my pores clear. Check out details on all the best BR products below.
I just finished a bottle of the SkinMedica TNS Advanced Serum, and while expensive, this stuff works. Its active ingredient is growth factors, which stimulate repair in your skin. When I wake up after using this my skin is smooth and glows from the inside out.
Biologique Recherche Emulsion Originelle, a lightweight moisturizer with no fragrance and soothing botanical extracts that soaks right in.
Bynacht Reverse Run Radical Recovery Serum, for any patches of irritation. It is legitimately the cushiest, most amazingly blendable hyaluronic acid-based serum I’ve ever used. Takes away redness from product irritation like that.
