My small team and I have been working on transferring over all the content on this site from the past four-and-a-half years (!!!) to this new platform, and I’ve gotta say… I dig it, baby!
Everyone needs a little refresh, and I’m so excited to continue posting here with this new look.
I’ve got a couple great shopping-related posts in the pipeline, but I’m having some issues with the shopping widgets (Jesus take the wheel, I am AWFUL with technical issues), so those will have to wait.
Meantime, let’s round up some other big things happening around these parts!
The podcast I recently did with internet security advocate and kidnapping and sexual assault survivor Alicia Kozak has been getting SO much well-deserved attention.
I’m honored Alicia opened up to me to share her story of abduction and rescue, and the overall message of why it’s more important now than ever to educate your kids about the dangers of chatting with strangers online.
Not gonna lie, this one is intense. But if you’re a parent or otherwise in charge of a young person’s safety, you’ve gotta check it out.
Listen here:
Meantime, I’m obsessing over a couple beauty products lately, and this is one. These Indeed Labs No-Peel Pads (will do a full post soon!) are an amazing alternative to acid-based (AHA or BHA) toners without the irritation. They clean off the last traces of dirt after cleansing, and they’re now always on my top shelf. Shop them HERE!
I mean, aside from the virus itself, is there a bigger stressor out there for parents right now? Whether your district has already mandated virtual, or you’re trying to decide what option is best, let me just say: I feel you, sister.
This is an almost impossible-to-answer dilemma, and everyone’s best case scenario will look different.
As for us, we are attempting virtual. I say attempting, because there is nothing in me that thinks my kindergartner and second grader will be able to sit in front of a screen for five hours a day and be able to remain attentive. If you’re a believer in God or energy, pray and send some good vibes our way. I’ll do the same for you!
Meantime, educational psychologist Dr. Michelle Tichy went in way deep with me on the podcast about this. Listen here, and tell me, what are you doing this school year?
That’s it for now! Drop in on Comments and let me know what you think about the site, and what you’re up to in these last days of summer!
