…so when I got the chance to review this product by REN, I was excited to see how it performed.
I really like it. It does set in well with a matte finish, as promised, but there is one thing that I need to share: It is a creamy formulation upon application, so it may feel a little heavy at first. Just make sure to blend blend blend and it will soak right in! Makes a great base for makeup, too.
It’s a cream formula, so it doesn’t foam up and dry out your skin, and the glycolic acid in the formula brightens your skin. Just make sure to use SPF after, because acids sensitize your skin and can make you more prone to sun spots!
Do note: This is a full-coverage correcting cream, so this is not what we reach for when we want that whole Beyoncé, I-woke-up-like-this vibe. Not super natural looking… unless you’re a cyborg.
But what it does manage to (miraculously) accomplish is being insanely lightweight, with a feels-like-there’s-nothing-there texture. It’s kind of insane… How did they do that??
So when you want coverage but don’t want to look like you caked on ten layers of makeup, reach for this!
Also, do yourself a favor and invest in this brush for application. I use it to apply this foundation (and literally EVERY other liquid formula that touches my face). It does an amazing job of blending. I want to marry this brush. I have like ten of them floating around my vanity and car.
That’s what’s On My Vanity for May! Leave me any great product recommendations and your favorites below!
