This is the first product I sampled this month, and so far, so great. I’ve been looking for a daytime retinol serum so that I can use some stem cell-containing products at night, and the light texture and great absorption of this serum feels great to me. The fact that it’s paired with Vitamin C, an amazing antioxidant for sun protection, makes it that much better. Just be sure to wear SPF if you’re using during the day!
You know me… I’m forever on the quest for the next great mineral-only sunblock that protects without using chemical sunscreen agents. I’m not saying they’re bad for you; I’m just saying my own skin can be reactive to chemical sunscreens, which is why 90% of the time I stick with a great zinc oxide- or titanium dioxide-based SPF. This one by Neostrata has the slightest tint to it and blends incredibly well. The texture is super thin, on the liquid side. Shake it well before applying, and blend it with your fingertips. I’m such a fan of niacinamide. As someone whose trouble is keeping pores clean—specifically on my cheeks—this ingredient has been amazing at minimizing clogs and blackheads in that area, without being overly harsh. I love that Q+A makes this amazing toner at such a good price point, so everyone can give it a try. If you haven’t experimented with niacinamide for oil control or pore issues, this is a great way to do so! I just love how it makes my skin feel. Use after cleansing and drying your skin.
