Have you heard the news? World War IIIÂ could be right around the corner. (Starting tomorrow, to be exact.) And what are we doing in my corner of the internet today, in light of this potential and literal earth-shattering news? Shopping!
I’m all for contemplating the future of humanity and all the attendant deep-talk that entails—I mean, I built a whole brand around it—but lately, it just feels go revel in a little avoidance.
Since today could be the final day you can online shop (lol, dark humor is the best)…
This past weekend, we took off for one night to a staycation to both celebrate Father’s Day and to allow a showing of our home. We are moving but staying local, and the sale of this home that we built is wrapped up in so many bittersweet emotions that it deserves its own post… which it will get at some point. 🙂
But! All of that to say, when packing for one night, you can go super simple on what you bring, and I managed to stuff my entire wardrobe into my overnight bag (this one is my go-to). One thing that made the pared-down cut? The world’s most flattering one-piece swimsuit.
Excuse the cheesy hotel picture:
This is the Andie Amalfi swimsuit. It comes in multiple colors (I reeeeallly want the red), and here’s what you need to know about it:
For sizing purposes, I’m generally a “shmedium”—somewhere in between a small and medium in most brands—but for this suit, I wear a small. This also makes a great bodysuit if you plan on swimming at some point during the day and want to wear your suit until you hop in the water.
If you sign up for texts and email, you’ll get 15% off, which brings the price down from an already-decent $112.
Quick note on inventory: This style tends to sell out in black, so check back if your size isn’t in stock! Would be grateful if you could click back through this link if possible to buy. 🙂
These sunglasses haven’t left my face since I got them for Mother’s Day. A gold wire-rim frame that’s 90s-reminiscent without being too on-trend, they’re lightweight and super comfortable.
What I love even more about them is that they sit perfectly under the brim of a hat. It sounds like a small thing, but it’s so noticeable as someone who loves to wear baseball caps!
Huge fan of SPF over here, and if you’ve spent any time in my corner of the internet and social media, you know I tend to prefer mineral blocks (i.e. formulas with zinc oxide as the active ingredient) over chemical (formulas with avobenzone, octisalate, homosalate, etc.) It’s not a hard-and-fast rule, but mostly.
I just updated my list of favorite SPF formulas for both the face and body, and you can find them all below. A note that the Supergoop Glow Oil is what I use on my body, but I’ve also used it on my face (and the kids!) with no irritation.
