The answers about 2021 are in the stars… and they’re… well… just keep reading!

When I interviewed Lumi, The Celestial Astrologer, on my podcast and live on my talk show this week, I’ve gotta be honest; I was looking for some comforting predictions for 2021. Like, someone please make this ride end!

While what I got in the end wasn’t necessarily that, it was a collection of advice that I know will serve us all well.

Translation? Whereas the motto for 2020 was, “Buckle up, baby!”… next year might be more like, “Ummm… stay buckled. And keep your hands and feet inside the moving vehicle.”

(She’s so good, guys. A side note: I did my own birth chart with her last month and it was incredibly eye-opening and resonated with who I am.)

TWO BIG PREDICTIONS FROM AN ASTROLOGER ABOUT 2021

THE DEFINING ELEMENTS OF 2021, ACCORDING TO AN ASTROLOGER

LESSON ONE: GROUNDING IS KEY

This theme came up and time and time again during our interview, as I was pressing Lumi for specifics about the first quarter of the year, in particular.

And a quick description of what she means by “grounding:” This can be literal, physical grounding—as in standing barefoot in the grass, sand, or other part of Earth (or a grounding mat, if you’re in a cold climate). But it also means grounding yourself spiritually—as in, discovering and maintaining a religious or spiritual routine that allows you to unplug, breathe, and truly hear your own thoughts and heart.

A way she mentioned doing this that I really loved was to focus on service. Helping others and having an outward focus can help ease stress, as well as provide us with a modicum of control (i.e. knowing we are making a difference) in a world that otherwise feels very out of control.

Here’s what Lumi says:

“Focus on service—I’m just gonna say that. I’m not gonna tell you to enlist yourself to every non profit organization possible, but … the collective is feeling this need. I’ve noticed a lot of my clients are saying, ‘How am I going to give back?’ [They] want to give back to humanity. That’s pretty much the Age of Aquarius in full effect.”

LESSON TWO: YOU MAY FEEL STUCK, AND THAT’S OKAY

You have to listen to the interview to get her full explanation on this, but the takeaway is that—especially in the early part of the year—the dominant elemental influences of 2021 are Earth and Air. And think about it: Those two don’t mix. In fact, they tend to each hold their own ground, and stay apart from each other.

This feeling of stagnancy, Lumi says, may inform how many people feel in the early part of 2021. Just… stuck. This also, she says, might play out in the political world, as in continuing to see people hold their ground philosophically, with no desire to budge.

It’s a good reminder to me, and hopefully to everyone, to keep our minds and our energies open. None of us is always right, and we can only gain insight and grow when we take time to meaningfully listen to others.

I’m not saying you should upend your belief system—frankly, sometimes I end up exactly where I started after listening to differing opinions—but taking the time to truly understand where other people come from is usually nothing but helpful.

Here’s Lumi:

“It’s stagnancy, I’m not gonna lie. [The dominant vibe is] stagnancy when it comes to the actual elements alone.

I would say do your research about finances and look into different outlets of reinventing your own business. Again, just practice your own sense of grounding with these kind of belief systems. … Overall the beautiful part of 2021 is … actually contributing to others and being more collective based as opposed to personal based.”
