What the Stars Have in Store for 2024

Every year I bring an astrologer onto the podcast to talk about what the new year could hold. It’s one of my favorite episodes as it allows us to reflect on the past year–ups and downs–and prepare mentally for the new year.

I joke that Lumi Pelinku is our “resident astrologer”; she’s been on the podcast for the past four years. And every time she talks with me, she dives deep into what both the collective (read: the country, the world) may experience, as well as each sun sign.

So let’s dive into some specifics about what Lumi is “predicting” for 2024! (Scroll down for a link to the full episode, where we break down the year ahead sign-by-sign as well.)

Trend 1: Expect Breakthroughs in Relationships, and Knowing Your Self-Worth

Lumi says from January 1 through May 15, the Lunar North Node conjunct Chiron in Aries can test bonds for some couples, but it’s not all bad news:

“There may be an increase in divorces as it will emphasize this need to find purity of purpose in our relationships instead of settling into the dogmatic conforms of unions. In a thriving union, it will allow one to participate in joint ventures involving boldness.”

And this is also a period for reflecting on your relationships, as Lumi says, “The Aries North Node will set a tone for us to know our worth … Release [yourself from] what is tethering you in order to reach fulfillment.”

Trend 2: A Media Overhaul

Okay, this one kind of freaked me out, as it involves contemplating the potentially dark side of AI.

Lumi says that on May 25, Jupiter enters Gemini, which could set the stage for a “media overhaul” as Jupiter, the planet of abundance, growth, and expansion, goes under the rule of Mercury, which dictates communication. The mix of these two forces, she says, could mean changes in the way we receive information.

“The media world is set for a huge overhaul in 2024. Some parts of this industry will dissolve, opening new and different growth channels (i.e. AI technology).”

Trend 3: Watch Your Finances in August and December

There’s one period of time where Lumi urges caution with investing.

“On August 19 and December 4, Jupiter will focus on Saturn’s three-year-long process of dissolving established structures and social beliefs to build new ones. … The financial markets could be unstable this part of the year, so these dates should be considered involving investments.”

Trend 4: The Age of Aquarius Returns, “Rebuilding a New Epoch”

There is one other change in store for 2024, and Lumi says it has to do with refocusing our attention toward collective, instead of the individual, needs. And it all has to do with Pluto entering Aquarius from November 19, 2024, through March 8, 2043. (Read: A loooooong time.)

“This is the official threshold of experiencing the Age of Aquarius. Pluto disseminates structures, and ever since 2008, it has prepared us for this moment to rebuild a new epoch.

“Everything will be about collaboration and the bigger picture instead of capitalist/self-serving views. Advancements in technology will take a quantum leap and the way to best feel grounded in this shift is to focus on service and inner work.”
