I call my Droplette my “handheld skin-improving device.” Basically it’s a machine that makes your active ingredients actually penetrate your skin.
I’ve been using the Droplette in my routine for the past two months, and I’m so excited to be partnering with them to share my honest thoughts on the device as well as offer you an exclusive coupon code to save you $50 on the device!
The cool thing that really drew me to the Droplette, which I purchased on my own, was that there was real science behind it. And you know I love a good brand story too, so let’s get into that. 😉
Founders Madhavi Gavini and Rathi Srinivas met at a medical conference, where they first came up with the idea of developing a device that would deliver powerful medical ingredients into the skin of patients suffering from a condition called Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB). Their goal? To get these actives into the dermis, without needles.
Fast forward, and the same technology they first envisioned to exist only in a medical capacity also now helps us get more glowing skin. And yes, they’re still working their medical mission. They’re still working on helping EB patients and have also partnered with Walter Reed Army Institute to use Droplette to treat blast wounds that impact soldiers in the field.
The Droplette breaks down the ingredient particles in their capsules into particles small enough to penetrate the skin.
A small vibrating device inside the machine “shakes” the particles, breaking them down and pushing them into your skin at a high velocity in the form of a gentle aerosol.
Since Droplette’s formulas are water-based, that means that you’re getting both the active ingredient in the capsule combined with the delivery power of water. It also means you’re getting hydration in addition to the performance of your chosen active.
The high-velocity mist breaks down the actives and water mixture into particles small enough to penetrate your dermis, and voila—the ingredients get to where they need to get.
Here’s what you need to know, first things first: It’s super simple!
Drop the capsule of your choice into the device—they have collagen (what I use); retinol; or glycolic acid—click it shut, then press the long button on the side. You’ll get three 15-second cycles, a pause (where you need to press the button again), then another set of three 15-second cycles.
I treat my skin in this order. First cycle: Cheek, cheek, forehead. Second cycle: Neck, décolleté, undereye area.
To be honest, I was hesitant to pull the trigger on purchasing this device initially. $299 is a lot, but knowing that there was real science behind the device, as well as finding a good coupon code (more on that soon!), made me take the leap.
So is it worth it? The short answer is yes. Ultimately, you get results with this device, and yes, I even notice my skin feeling more hydrated immediately after using it.
The only caveat is that you have to remain consistent. Because you’re delivering ingredients into your skin—especially with the collagen, which is essentially plumping the skin—you want to remain consistent and use the collagen capsules at least once a day to keep up that result.
That probably won’t be the same for the retinol capsules; I haven’t tried those yet! But with retinol, more isn’t better, so I would imagine once a day would be great for that as well as the glycolic acid capsules. Those are both more powerful ingredients than collagen, so make sure you stick to Droplette’s recommendations for those capsules.
Choose from three active ingredient capsules—retinol, glycolic acid, or collagen.
As I said, I use the collagen capsules at the moment and have loved the plumping effect they’ve had on my skin. When I use it on my undereye area (I have more of a hollowed-out situation happening there), I notice a light plumping of the skin.
The capsules are recyclable.
I got this question on Instagram, and it’s something I immediately wondered too when I read about Droplette! With each capsule subscription package, you get a stamped, addressed envelope and you drop in used capsules and mail them back to the company for recycling.
You can work this into your existing skincare routine.
Since I already have a pretty serious product lineup, I wondered where I was going to use the Droplette. But it actually fit right in.
I’m using it after cleansing and toning, and before my actives and/or moisturizer. So I cleanse, tone, let my skin dry, use my Droplette, then follow up with an additional moisturizer if I need to.
Again, because I’m using the collagen capsules and they’re not irritating, I can even use these under my retinol products at night and the result is glowing skin when I wake up.
I’m so, so excited to share this with you! Droplette is offering WGT readers and listeners $50 off a purchase of $299 or more (which is the cost of the device) with the code:
Just click here, choose your device color and capsules, then use the code at checkout!
